Hunnewell Garden

Water Mill, NY

The Garden Conservancy Preservation Partner Garden

About

This garden is open twice this year: June 27 and September 19.

Following the principles of Doug Tallamy (Nature’s Best Hope) and Edwina von Gal (2/3 for the Birds), the owners have, for the last few years, attempted to create

a garden that is both beautiful and environmentally beneficial, using native plants.

They have removed all invasives, replaced lawn with garden beds, and planted over 75 species of native pollinator plants. Visitors to this garden will not find a formal, perfectly manicured landscape but more of a cacophony of life, attracting a multitude of birds and bees.

This garden's estimated size is 1 acre.
