Join Woltz, Senior Principal and Owner of Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects (NBW), for a presentation on the influence of the Olmsted Brothers in today's landscape practice. In the century since the Olmsted Brothers drew up a visionary plan for Birmingham, one of their key insights has grown more urgent than ever: that access to high-quality public landscapes is integral to healthy urban living. Woltz will discuss their influence as illustrated by his firm’s work in public parks and cultural institutions.
An alumnus of the University of Virginia with master’s degrees in architecture and landscape architecture, Woltz’s work has earned recognition as a WSJ. Magazine Design Innovator and ASLA Fellow. He was also honored with the 2025 Frederic Church Award. Currently serving as Co-Chair for The Cultural Landscape Foundation, Woltz continues to shape the sustainability of the public realm.
