A Garden in Conversation: Louise Agee Wrinkle's Southern Woodland Sanctuary
Louise Wrinkle's Garden
A Garden in Conversation: Louise Agee Wrinkle's Southern Woodland Sanctuary explores the rich story of Wrinkle's Southern Woodland Garden in Mountain Brook, AL. Over many years, Wrinkle meticulously cultivated the woodland, transforming her childhood home, then known as “The Jungle,” into a regional treasure. In the film, she shares anecdotes and challenges of tending to her garden and the ethos that guided her to cultivate and coax the inherent, ethereal sense of place within a natural woodland space. Louise Wrinkle's legacy in horticulture provides a unique opportunity to explore what we preserve and how we preserve it. This also marks the first time the Conservancy has interviewed the creator of a garden it has documented on film.
