About

Mathew McDowell is a horticulturist and naturalist who specializes primarily in regional native plants, invasive species management, and designing planted spaces attractive to humans and wildlife. In this walking tour, we'll be exploring the unique adaptations of plants found in the Sara Stein Garden, many of which are found growing wild in New York State. What is their evolutionary history? How do they relate with other plants and animals in this shared habitat? How has this plant been used in cultures around the world? Perhaps learning how a plant reproduces will surprise you! Whether you're a plant professional or new to the native plant world, you'll be amazed with the exciting, interrelationship of plants.
