About

We have been developing our gardens since the late 90s, when we began collaborating with Tony Tyznik, who served as Landscape Architect for the Morton Arboretum for 40 years. Tony's design covers approximately 1 acre, and includes a bluestone patio; fountain; perennial gardens; a vegetable and cutting garden; a pergola; an espaliered apple tree and several other fruit trees and fruiting shrubs; and a compost bed. In another part of the yard, our so-called 'Bridge to Nowhere' spans a seasonal stream bed and leads to a wild area with walking paths. This section is an active work in progress where we hope to create a labyrinth constructed out of tree cookies gleaned from two deceased silver maples. In the spring thousands of various bulbs can be seen all around the property. All weeds are native to the site.

This garden’s estimated size is 3 acres.
