Hunnewell Garden

Water Mill, NY
New to Open Days , Substantial native plants, Organic/toxin-free

Following the principles of Doug Tallamy (Nature's Best Hope) and Edwina von Gal (2/3 for the Birds, 234birds.org), the owners have, for the last few years, attempted to create a garden that is both beautiful and environmentally beneficial, using native plants.  They have removed all invasives, replaced lawn with garden beds, and planted over 75 natives. Visitors to this garden will not find a formal, perfectly manicured landscape but more of a cacophony of life, attracting a multitude of birds and bees.

Open Days 2024: Saturday, September 7
