About

What was once a quintessential suburban garden—a neat expanse of lawn and conventional plantings—has been transformed into a more resilient, climate- conscious landscape.

Over 3,000 square feet of turf have been removed, replaced with climate- appropriate species that not only reduce overall water usage but also stand up to the rigors of our very active household.

I use the garden as both a personal retreat and a professional testing ground, trialing plants to see how they handle our conditions before incorporating them into client designs. It’s a living laboratory that sharpens my craft and reinforces my belief that the most resilient gardens are those that belong wholly to their place.

This garden's estimated size is .33 acre.

This Garden Host reports the following Terrain Notes about the garden: The main areas of the gardens are accessible via sloped walkway/driveway (there are no stairs required to access the garden). Secondary spaces, primarily a hillside garden and deck, are accessible via moss rock steps and visitors interested in accessing this space need to be comfortable with uneven ground and informal landscape steps.
