About

Located in Berkeley’s Thousand Oaks neighborhood, the site possesses a scattering of massive indigenous Northbrae rhyolite boulders, deposited here by volcanic eruptions some 10 million years ago. The home was carefully sited among these boulders as well as massive old, coast live oak trees. The garden was designed to showcase a vast collection of rare and unusual perennials, cacti, and succulent species to complement the gorgeous hardscape and architecture while creating some tension between the cultivated and natural areas.

This garden’s estimated size is 1/3 acre.
