Kentford Farm

Stonington, CT

The Garden Conservancy Preservation Partner Garden

About

This garden is open three times this year: May 30, June 28, and October 10.

Kentford Farm was a land grant from King George in 1723. The house went on the tax rolls in 1727 in the town of

Stonington.

For 28 years, Paul Coutu and William Turner have been creating winding paths, a koi pond and planting beds. In 1945, a previous owner began planting what are now 60-foot weeping cherries, 100- foot Norway spruce, copper beech, and Franklinia trees, to name a few, that dot this 6-acre garden.

There is a walk-in root cellar built into the hillside, and stone walls surround the whole property. For more information, visit www.kentfordfarm.com

This garden’s estimated size is 6 acres.
