The Garden Conservancy Preservation Partner Garden

About

The garden consists of five garden rooms, each distinctive yet linked together. There are two formal parterres set against the backdrop of the historic 1771 Lynde Lord House. The upper garden contains a small alpine terrace set within a formal English-style perennial garden with a central pool and a profusion of flowers in a subdued palette. The lower garden is an herb garden with brick paths, clipped box, and a small central knot garden, with a mixture of herbs and flowers. As the garden has evolved, a second parallel axis and long border have been created, with small trees, shrubs, and perennials. The newest garden room is a French-inspired formal garden and terrace flanked by a more naturalistic planting.
