About

All aboard! The OSP&C (Old Swimming Pool and Compost) garden railway is ready to bring back some train memories. We run three trains simultaneously along with a trolley, and it’s one of many gardens we have on our property. We rebuilt almost all of the gardens over the last several years following a serious illness. We think the garden has something to interest just about anyone. It starts with several roadside gardens and a welcoming topiary. If the railroad is your final destination, be sure not to miss the perennial beds, fairy garden, and goldfish pond in front of the house. Then proceed past the rose and vegetable gardens to the backyard, where there are more perennial beds. Pass into and through the pergola, keeping an eye out for the old men chiseled into the stone wall. Stop and visit the large goldfish pond; it should be easy to spot the fish, but the frogs are more difficult as they are masters of camouflage. The gazebo stands ready to offer you a rest and a bit of refreshment. You can go directly to the OSP&C by walking over the bridge or walking around the pond. If you go around the pond, a 2023 garden addition is behind the espalier apple trees and blueberry bushes. When you get to the OSP&C, check out the various railroad scenes and let your imagination go wild. If you have young children, have them ask the engineer if they can blow the train whistle, I’m sure he will accommodate them.  We only ask one thing from our guests: please enjoy yourself.

This garden’s estimated size is 1 acre.
