Cynthia's Garden
Weston, MA
About
My garden has been a 17-year journey that I’m still undertaking. When I started, about a quarter of the 3-1/2 acres was landscaped, with extensive lawn, invasive plants, poison ivy, and scattered debris dominating the rest. I drew up a plan and began the slow process of weeding, clearing, landscaping, and planting. As I’ve done most of the work myself, with some help from friends along the way, progress has been gradual, but the garden has become something truly special and feels closer to completion—if that’s ever possible with a garden! I think of it as a “friends’ garden” because everywhere I look, I see plants, statuary, and beautiful objects contributed by friends and family. Visitors are often amazed by the variety of plantings, the unusual species, and how the garden evolves week to week. The Weston Media Center and the Weston Garden Club have filmed 12 episodes of Cynthia’s Garden and 4 episodes of Digging Dirt here. It’s a wonderful place to learn, enjoy, and be inspired. Some of the special areas in my garden include our huge maple tree, rain garden, bench garden, spiral garden, color garden, gazebo, fern path, give-away garden, and more. It’s beautiful in every season and truly abundant.
This garden’s estimated size is 3-1/2 acres.
