Chicago Botanic Garden

The Chicago Botanic Garden, one of the treasures of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, is a 385-acre living plant museum featuring twenty-four distinct display gardens surrounded by lakes, as well as four natural areas. The Garden's programs educate visitors of all ages about plants and the natural world, from day campers to high school students, to certificate, Masters and PhD students to lifelong learners. The Visitor Center houses the Plant Information Service, Garden Café and Garden Shop. The Regenstein Center houses exhibition halls, the Lenhardt Library and Greenhouses. The Plant Conservation Science Center houses the Green Roof Garden and Visitor Gallery with interactive interpretation of the plant research being done behind the scenes.
Directions: Located 0.5 mile east of Edens Expressway/Route 41 on Lake Cook Road.
Hours: Year round, daily, 8 a.m. to dusk, with extended summer and winter holiday season hours.
