Chase Garden

A naturalistic, four-and-one-half-acre garden was created and lovingly tended by Ione and Emmott Chase. This modernist, Japanese-inspired garden includes a reflecting pool, gravel paths, and moss-covered boulders, designed by landscape architect A. Rex Zumwalt with Ione Chase. Other areas, including a wildflower carpeted forest of native trees, perennial shade borders, a rock garden, and a groundcover meadow inspired by the alpine meadows of nearby Mount Rainier. This garden has an inspiring sense of place with its majestic view of Mount Rainier across the Puyallup River Valley.
