The Enchanted Edible Forest at Cross Island Farms is also hosting a Digging Deeper on Saturday, October 5: Guided Tour of The Enchanted Edible Forest Garden
This garden is open twice this year: May 18 and October 5.
Over the past eleven years Dani Baker has developed an acre of her certified organic farm as a multi-functional "Enchanted Edible Forest" garden containing more than 300 cultivars of perennial fruits, nuts, berries, flowers, and other edibles. The garden is elegantly landscaped, including a number of native limestone patios, two small ponds, and a bridge, trellis, and gates fashioned from native white cedar. The word that visitors most often spontaneously use to describe it is "magical." Based on her experience creating this garden, Dani has written a book, The Home-Scale Forest Garden: How to Plan, Plant and Tend a Resilient Edible Landscape, a guide to help others create their own magical edible landscapes. www.enchantededibleforest.com
