Carhart Garden
Vashon Island, WA
Garden structure/sculpture, Rare plants/plant collection, Scenic view, Water feature, Woodland/shade garden
Our 2½-acre Northwest-style four-season garden with mixed shade and sun has evolved over twenty years. The diverse collection of plants includes a mixture of unusual and rare woodland plants and ferns among Japanese maples, species rhododendrons, and unusual conifers. Many paths afford an opportunity to pause and reflect among the naturalistic plantings of cedars and firs, as well as stewartias, hydrangeas, and shade-tolerant perennials. Hillside paths lead down to a waterfall and pond. An antique Indonesian garden shed offers an Asian touch to our garden. Washington State artists as well as international sculptors enhance our garden with art.
This garden's estimated size is 2½ acres.
