Garden Designer Arne Maynard

Arne Maynard, one of the UK’s most sought after and internationally renowned garden designers, is celebrated for his ability to create gardens with a particular sense of harmony and belonging, as well as his love of traditional craftsmanship and eye for historical detail. His new book, The Gardens of Arne Maynard (Merrell, London, 2015), focuses on twelve of his gardens, with photographs by William Collinson, and offers fascinating insights into the evolution of his designs.

Arne will join us on the West Coast in four educational events to introduce his book and give a personal account of how collaboration with gardeners, plant specialists and traditional craftspeople and an unwavering passion for plants enables him to create gardens that appear to have grown out of their environment, naturally suiting both their owners and locations.
